Flagship Niagara's Sailing Program May Be Discontinued
Due to the Economic Situation, the State of Pennsylvania is talking about eliminating funding the Brig Niagara's sailing program for this coming season. Once cut, getting such funding restored will become increasingly difficult. Without an active sailing program, the ability to properly maintain the vessel will suffer drastically. The end result is likely to be a static vessel, slowly deteriorating at her moorings.

If you are a resident of Pennsylvania, contact the PHMC and your local State Representative and express your support for the Brig Niagara and the sailing program.
- Join the Flagship Niagara League (for as little as $25). Growth in our membership numbers will send a strong signal to the PHMC and the powers that be in Harrisburg.
- If you are on Facebook you can go to
www.causes.com/FlagshipNiagara and donate directly to support the League and the sailing program.
- Book a Day sail on Niagara, or if you have the time, sign up for a Three Week Stint with the Sail Training Program and learn to sail on square rigged ship. Again, for more info see the Niagara web-page. The more money the program itself can bring in the better our chances of keeping it alive.
