How do I get involved in re-enacting?
Check out the Calendar of events page and attend one of the events. It may be a battle re-enactment, encampment or 'living history' display. Speak with one of our members or a member of another unit. Remember to look at the group itself, beyond the period clothing. Do the units emphasize what you are interested in? Is their approach to history one that appeals to you? How are they organized? Do they seem open and friendly? If you wish to join one of the CMHS interpretations, the members will invite you to attend an activity with the unit as a guest of the Canadian Military Heritage Society. Afterwards, if you enjoy the experience arrangements will be made to help you acquire the uniform, kit, etc that is required to participate as a full member. Bring your family. There are roles for men, women, and even the children enjoy it. All are welcome.
Membership To the C.M.H.S:
Membership to the CMHS (whether it be with the 49th Foot, PPCLI WW1 or WW2 project) includes your third party liability insurance while participating at sanctioned CMHS events and displays. Dues are required to cover the cost of this insurance, and the administration costs of the CMHS
